Cosmic Quest
Cosmic Quest is a Vedic astrology (Jyotish) and Panchang app for Android, built in India. This website previews what the app does: today’s Panchang, a 3D Kundli and the Vimshottari dasha, each calculated in your browser and explained step by step.
The daily Panchang gives tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana with their ending times, plus sunrise, sunset, Rahu Kaal and hora, for 37 cities and any date from 1900 to 2100. The 3D Kundli builds a sidereal birth chart from your birth date, time and place and lets you explore it layer by layer. The Vimshottari dasha timeline shows the planetary periods that follow from the Moon’s nakshatra at birth.
Sun, Moon and planet positions come from astronomy-engine 2.1.19, checked against NASA JPL Horizons (Sun and Moon within 0.005°). The website uses the sidereal zodiac with a linear Lahiri ayanamsha, Whole Sign houses and the mean lunar node; the app defaults to the true node. Vedic astrology explained sets out what is astronomy and what is tradition, and Learn works through tithi, nakshatra, Rahu Kaal and more with calculated examples.
Accurate positions can be checked against observation. What a placement is taken to mean belongs to the tradition, and accurate astronomy does not, by itself, validate an interpretation. Every result on this site says which of the two it is.
The website needs no account. Birth details for the 3D Kundli are used in your browser and are not sent to Cosmic Quest. Analytics are optional and load only after you choose to accept them. The privacy policy explains what the app collects and how to exercise your rights.
